Samina Mondal is a Management and Program Analysis Officer with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management, where she brings together her expertise in technology, policy, and communication to support critical initiatives. She also serves on the advisory board of Girl Security, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing girls, women, and gender minorities in national security. Through her role at Girl Security, Samina helps shape mentorship and training programs that build a more resilient workforce. In her research, Samina delves into the intersections of cybersecurity and AI, focusing on their implications for national security and the future of digital communication. 

At GW, Samina teaches Introduction to Public Communication (COMM 1040), drawing on her background in government relations to guide students in understanding the role of strategic communication in today’s digital world. Her interdisciplinary approach is informed by her experience in both research and practical applications of technology and human resources in communication.

Samina holds a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Virginia, reflecting her dedication to fostering knowledge and skills that empower the next generation of leaders.
