Dr. Wendy Riemann is an adjunct professor and advisor, as well as a communication consultant. Prior to earning her Ph.D., Dr. Riemann worked as the Director of Federal Relations for the State of Wisconsin. In that role, she proactively worked across the aisle on a range of issues and routinely brought state and federal staff and officials together. Dr. Riemann also spent time at a public affairs firm and served as a Communications Director on both Capitol Hill and for a winning, competitive open-seat congressional campaign.

She earned her start in Washington writing speeches for the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. A Wisconsin native, Dr. Riemann also spent time in Florida, serving as a speechwriter to the Governor, and as the Communications Director at the Florida Department of Health, where her team won an Emmy for a public service campaign.

Dr. Riemann's research focuses on relationship dissolution, specifically broken marriage engagements. She examines why relationships end, social support encountered in the process, including helpful and unhelpful messages, and other relational factors surrounding breakups and moving forward afterward.
